"Let me start out by saying “working out” has and was never my specialty. I would go to the gym daily before meeting Garrett and see no results. I would eat the right things (I thought) and do the right things and still nothing. I knew that I needed a change, and I knew I was determined to see that change one way or another. The fad diets didn’t work, and the tireless gym sessions didn’t work either. I connected with Garett through a mutual friend, I was nervous scared, and quiet frankly out of shape. "I wholeheartedly recommend Garrett Loria as a personal trainer for anyone desiring improved strength, endurance and overall fitness whatever their starting point may be. Skiing, snowshoeing, gardening and DIY projects around the house are all activities I love but have not fully enjoyed since a cervical (C5) disc rupture 3 years ago. Healed through physical therapy and time I was lacking in stamina. Desiring to regain the ease of movement and strength I enjoyed prior to the injury, three months ago I dedicated myself to rebuilding my sense of well being by working with a trainer for the first time in my 59 years. With forms, surveys and a fitness assessment behind us, Garrett provides me with a personally designed program tailored to my specific goals and limitations. We meet 2 times/week at the gym with additional cardio and home exercises prescribed. Assessment is ongoing and adjustments are made to the program on a regular basis. An ongoing difficulty for me is muscle pain in my neck and shoulder area which Garrett addresses through on the spot modifications to my program. I look forward to our gym workouts. Garrett is chatty and yet quite serious. He is focussed on me and my program throughout our sessions. Conversation cycles through my response to the exercises, the program and my progress outside the gym. Garrett is always taking notes, discussing form and educating me on muscle groups and trying to isolate and feel the muscle we are working on in the moment. The gym and home workouts are a seamless blend of conditioning and bringing those underused muscles back on line. The results are nothing short of outstanding in my life outside the gym! Week by week I am so much happier each time I engage in the activities of my life. My downhill ski season has started very strong with increased stamina, leg strength and confidence on the slopes. Snow shoveling is fun again with my strengthened core. I have even begun chopping wood! I cannot wait for gardening season! It is through the functional aspects of my life that I have found my “WHY” for regular exercise directed and curated by Garrett. Exercise is helping me live and experience my best body NOW! "
"I have struggled for over 20 years to maintain a healthy weight and lifestyle while managing the frequent strains, sprains, and breaks that have often prevented me from doing the active things I enjoy. When I received a diagnosis of Ehlers Danlos Type III (a form of soft/connective tissue disorder), I finally had an answer as to why I have had so many injuries, but no idea how to regain the strength and control over my aging body that I so desperately wanted. Working with Garrett has been life changing. He is constantly seeking new knowledge and methods to help me safely reach my goals, pushes me when I flag, holds me back when I push too hard, and reminds me to be kind to myself. A year ago, I wasn’t in the best of places mentally. I was stressing about not having accomplished enough as those have around me and I let that fester to the point where it was eating me from the inside out. And, for a while, I thought I was down for the count. So, one day I took a personal oath to never feel like that ever again. To remember that feeling, sit with it, and move forward. Always forward. At first it was tough finding any kind of motivation but then I started adding small goals to my days such as: One drawing a day, write in a journal, learn a song on the bass, and, now, lifting.
When I reached out to Garrett about wanting to lose weight and be healthier, he was very eager to help me. He got right to work and got back to me almost right away with a workout/dieting plan. He even made sure I had a home workout plan for when Covid hit. He showed me proper forms/techniques/etiquettes to lifting which I committed to memory, hit the gym. It’s been, roughly, a year and a month since I started my fitness journey. I started at 250 pounds and today I’m at a comfortable 210. And though my original goal was to hit 200, being able to lose those 40+ pounds and maintain my current weight really lifts me up. Having seen my progress I can safely say that I am, indeed, still moving forward and most of the thanks has to go to Garrett and his support. My journey in bettering my health/lifestyle, whether it be physical or mental, is just starting."

"Garrett has been my fitness trainer for 4 years. After our initial meeting Garrett developed a custom training program for me that would accommodate my special needs. Because of this training I feel healthier and more fit. It is easier for me to do my daily activities because I am stronger and feel good about myself. Garrett helps me understand the Mind-Body connection. At the beginning of each session, we take a few minutes to discuss what I have been doing, how I am feeling and how my week has been. Garrett has a great attitude and a positive outlook which helps me feel the same way. Since February of 2020, because of Covid, we have been working remotely, via Zoom. Garrett developed an in-home training program for me that he coaches me through it weekly. I feel like this has been very effective in keeping me strong and healthy. My highlight of the week."
