Meet COACH GARRETT

Hello and welcome to Progression Health & Fitness! My name is Garrett Loria and I am a health coach, fitness enthusiast and educator. I developed my business-- Progression Health & Fitness because I wanted to improve the quality of life within my community starting with its members! I began as a part-time personal trainer while continuing my work as a professor. Years later, I have completed a variety of certifications, mentorships, and coursework within the field of health and wellness because this has become my purpose and passion! As a health coach, I combine my background in education and my knowledge of overall health, exercise execution and programming (your workouts!), nutrition, recovery, and psychological wellness to empower you to address health and wellness concerns that have seemed unapproachable or insurmountable in the past! I am fascinated by the intricacies of wellbeing—physical, physiological, psychological, emotional, and social.  But, a health and fitness professional who considers and addresses all of these domains is rare. I intend to fill that gap and my philosophy on coaching is driven by these tenets.


In our work together, you will know the “why” behind everything we do. This approach allows us to build a sustainable framework and skillset that you will take with you for life! An approach centered on exercise & quality movement, nutrition, sleep, stress management & mindset, nature, and connection & community. Overarchingly, you and I might be a good fit if you are looking to live well and with vitality. I want you to live your life how you want to live it, achieve your goals, and fulfill your purpose. For some clients that might mean having the energy and health to run your business during the day, cook dinner for the family, and then take your kids to the playground. To others, it might mean being confident taking your paddle board out for a spin. Playing a game of pick-up basketball, hiking with your spouse on the weekends, gardening/landscaping. The list goes on and on, and as your coach I will understand what it means to you to live well and we will work in accordance with those values!


Generally, we would be a good fit if:


  • You’re striving to make body composition changes (build muscle/fat loss/strength). Especially if you’ve tried to make body composition/aesthetic changes on your own and have been met with resistance (i.e. weight loss or metabolic resistance). Resistance can typically be overcome by improving how efficiently your body’s systems are working and by improving your overall health & vitality!


  • You would like to improve your vitality! You’re looking for more energy, to boost your mood, slow the effects of aging, improve cognitive function, improve overall health, etc..  If you’re someone who needs a few cups of coffee in the morning, another “cup” of coffee at noon, and then you reach for an energy drink at 2pm knowing you’ll need it to make it through the rest of the day with even a wisp of vigor, we should talk!


  • You have digestive issues, hormonal health concerns, and/or other symptoms and haven’t been able to make progress. Especially if you’re trying to find & solve the root cause of your symptoms and/or diagnosis.


  • You have a diagnosis from your doctor and are looking for actionable steps forward in regard to working out, nutrition, and lifestyle. We can work together as a team!
